Elegant & Sophisticated Dining Room

A large island was primary on the wish list for this family of five, providing casual counter-height dining.

LIVING ROOM VIGNETTE

1. Foyer: View of stairway and Dining room. Designer added the Frieze molding to enhance the tall walls. A mixture of shapes selected to offset the linear lines of this space.

The clean simple lines of the open black vanity has easily accessible storage. The solid surface top is seamless with a fully integrated sink. The 12 x 18 wall tile creates a subtle tactile geometry and a contrast to the color, texture and pattern of the black 4 x 8 accent tile highlighting the LED mirror. They are both in harmony with the matte floor tile.

The stunning custom chandelier is a showstopper even when daylight floods the space.

ROOM 128: A MID-CENTURY MODERN SECRET GARDEN

Visitors entering from the adjacent hall were greeted by the flowering blooms.

One wish-list item was an island for sitting and working. Removing the half wall created better flow and allowed clearance for a properly sized island that doesn’t overwhelm the room. The generous walkway clearance around the island provides plenty of space for 2 cooks to work. Comfortable seating for “visitability” keeps guests out of the cook’s way.
